Jakarta, February 13, 2019 – Telkomsel's streaming video application, MAXstream has collaborated with premium short film platform Viddsee to create a romantic comedy series, 'Unscripted Man'. Comprising four episodes, the series will debut on February 14, 2019 and will be exclusively available on MAXstream.

‘Unscripted Man’ revolves around Bas (Sebryan Yosvien), an office employee who finds a sacred script from his late father's inheritance. The script records Bas's history and life predictions accurately. However, in the script it was written that Bas’s girlfriend, Jacklyn (Keyna Kameron), would eventually end up with another man, Ando (Rendy). Bas, along with his best friend, Jani (Lutesha) tries to do everything against of what was scripted to avoid the impending fate.

Aside from the MAXstream and Viddsee Original series, MAXstream has also featured one short film per day sourced from Viddsee since February 1. The short films were curated by Viddsee’s Indonesian content team, and carry themes of love, life and laughter, keeping with the Chinese New Year celebrations and the month of love.

In the list are Viddsee Shortee audience favourites ‘Loving A Tombstone (Mencintai Nisan)', directed by Dmaz Brodjonegoro; 'Made In Bali', directed by Michael Pohorly; and ‘Errorist of Seasons’, directed by Rein Maychaelson, who directed 'Unscripted Man'. Hailing from Jakarta, Rein is an accomplished director whose previous films like 'Udin Telekomsel', 'A Dinner with Astronaut', and 'Errorist of Seasons’ have been recognised in more than 25 national and international film festivals.

In 2018, he won several awards, including the Popcon Asia Awards, Go Ahead Challenge Awards, and the Viddsee Juree Awards (Indonesia) for ‘Errorist of Seasons’. The latest award included a grant to help him complete his latest short film, 'Living Elvis' which is due out in early 2019.

Telkomsel’s Head of Digital Lifestyle, Crispin Tristram said: “MAXstream not only continues to provide high quality digital content but also empowers Indonesian creatives to hone their craft by using MAXstream to amplify the reach of their films to a wider audience. This is in line with our mission to develop the Indonesian digital ecosystem and give the best digital lifestyle experience to our customers.

Viddsee has built strong relationships with Indonesian filmmakers over the years and they understand the needs and demands of local audiences. We hope to give better and more diverse content that suits the taste and needs of 10 million MAXstream users, while supporting Indonesian filmmakers at the grassroots level to reach out to more movie fans.”

Viddsee Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer Derek Tan said, "After seeing how 'Errorist of Seasons' was very relevant to the local audience, we saw Rein as the ideal person to create our first Viddsee Originals series in Indonesia. This is only the beginning; in the coming months, viewers can expect more Indonesian serials and documentaries from our digital content production branch, Viddsee Studios."

"This is a significant step in our mission to empower storytellers throughout the region; having partners like Telkomsel that support Rein's work and other Indonesian filmmakers will not only increase visibility for budding filmmakers, but also become the validation and motivation that they need to create important, entertaining and inspiring movies."
